2019 GOVERNOR’S SERVICE AWARDS

The Governor’s Service Awards honor outstanding national service members, volunteers, and programs that have helped to address serious social needs in their communities. Those honored by these awards will have made significant contributions to Wisconsin through their service efforts, with their generous service impacting the lives of countless Wisconsinites.

AmeriCorps VISTA Member of the Year: Marco Marquez - Milwaukee Succeeds — Milwaukee, WI

Senior Corps Volunteer of the Year:  Richard Hoffman, RSVP of Dane County — Dane County, WI

Senior Corps Volunteer of the Year:  Mary Ann Steep, Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program Foster Grandparent Program – Argyle, WI

Senior Corps Program of the Year: RSVP Interfaith of Washington County — Washington County, WI

Veteran Volunteer of the Year:  Steve Conto, Veterans of Foreign Wars

Volunteer Coordinator of the Year: Rachel Guenther, The Beacon — Madison, WI

AmeriCorps Alumni of the Year: Khong Meng Her, originally served with Marshfield Clinic Afterschool and currently working as Associate Student Services Coordinator at UW-Eau Claire supporting Blugold Beginnings AmeriCorps members — Eau Claire, WI

AmeriCorps Alumni of the Year: Ashley Lee, originally served with Teach for America Milwaukee and currently working as Executive Director of Public Allies Milwaukee — Milwaukee, WI

AmeriCorps Alumni of the Year: Adrienne Strelcheck, originally served with Wisconsin Association for Homeless and Runaway Services and currently working as the Street Beat Outreach Program Coordinator at Pathfinders Milwaukee — Milwaukee, WI

AmeriCorps VISTA Alumni of the Year: Ellen Carlson, originally served with Schools of Hope Literacy Project and currently working as Executive Director of Middleton Outreach Ministries (MOM) — Middleton, WI
